Which Bible?
There are many versions of the Bible — so which is best for accurate study and clear understanding?
The version we recommend
While newer versions have aimed to make the Bible more readable than the King James Version of 1611, the accuracy of the King James Version is beyond dispute. For that reason, as serious Bible students, we recommend the Authorised King James Version (AV) for general reading and study. Once you become accustomed to its language, its benefits far outweigh its few disadvantages.
This does not rule out using other versions to help check the meaning of difficult passages. We commend the principle Paul gave to the Thessalonians: “prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21).
Do you read the Bible every day?
Reading the Word of God daily and systematically lets you discover the full message of His revelation of Himself and His purpose. Our recommended plan takes around 20 minutes a day, and over a year reads the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice — the same passages each day that Bible students use the world over.
